Hunter Series Over Size Butt-Up Mallard Decoys add one drake and one hen in the tipped-up feeding posture. Feeders do something no floating decoy can: they show birds overhead that there is food in the water worth stopping for.
Two is the right number in a dozen-bird spread. Set them where the water shallows up, since a tipped-up bird in deep water reads wrong to anything that has fed on a flat before.
